As of the end of January this site is ten years old. That's a really long time! It hasn't been a "journal" this whole time so I don't have entries going back quite that far, but I did create a personal site way back when I was in college, which turned into this at some point.

So I finally broke down and bought a new computer. I sorta compromised by buying brand new parts, and putting them into my old case. So besides being super quiet, my computer looks and acts the same as always. I'm running the Windows 7 beta which is kinda neat, but some of my stuff doesn't work at all... so I'm not sure if I'll keep it until it expires or go back to Windows XP eventually. The extra boost in computer power is great though... I can finally watch hi-def videos without massive amounts of lag.

In just over a week I'll be going to visit Joey and Merina in Winnipeg! Kalon and Andrew are coming too, so it should be a very good time, I really can't wait! They've got a few new roommates this time around so we'll all be sleeping on couches or cushions, but I don't mind.

Oh Buddy is gonna be going for surgery very soon. He has two pretty big tumours (likely just fat) that finally need to be removed, as well as a cyst of some sort on his back. The vet says his heart is doing great and he's very healthy so everything should go fine. I'm going to Summerside this weekend for the first time since before New Years so I'll get to visit him before his operation.

Sooo... I'm back from my trip in Winnipeg. It was pretty awesome. Andrew, Kalon and I left Saturday (the 14th) afternoon and landed just before seven in the evening. Noel was actually already at Joey's place, so we picked him up and went for Palatel right away! (Sadly this was the only time went.) Over the course of the week we did very crazy karaoke, lots of shopping and eating, and visited the Regent Casino the night before heading home. I was wishing I could stay longer by the time I had to leave. I feel so at home staying at Joey and Merina's place, even if I'm sleeping on a couch and living out of my luggage.

Everything back home feels back to normal already. Work was a little more interesting than usual this week, and should be about the same next week too. I went swimming for the first time in about a month on Tuesday, but they didn't open up the little diving boards so I had to use the high-dive all night, which is getting kinda boring cause I'm too scared to flip off of it.

Last night I went to the Formosa with Jill and Jaclyn. I got some steamed shitake buns, which are great, and some veggie sushi, which was actually super dry and unappealing, but I ate it anyway. We all had DSes so we visited each other's towns in Animal Crossing until the place closed and we had to leave. Jaclyn took me to EBGames after and I grabbed a copy of Retro Game Challenge (which I couldn't find in Winnipeg), finally using the gift card Jon got me for my birthday!
