I think a lot of stuff has happened since I last updated, but I can't really remember beyond last week so I'm gonna just write up a few bits from that and call it a day.First and foremost I have a NEW JOB! It's technically the same company, but now instead of doing game testing for Sculpin QA I'm a Jr. Game Designer with Other Ocean Interactive. On Thursday I handed in some gameplay suggestions that the owner had requested and Friday morning I was asked if I would help design games in the other office. The question was a bit scary but there was no way I could decline the opportunity. I moved over to my new spot on Monday and am already pretty busy. My new co-workers are really cool (although I still go out for lunch and coffee with the Sculpin guys most of the time) and so far I'm pretty confident I'll really enjoy this new career.
Last week I went to a few really great shows at Hunters. (Which is strange cause I haven't actually gone to Hunters in months.) First was Boys Who Say No, The Sidewalks and Attack in Black on Wednesday. Kalon and Craig came down for that one. Going in I was pretty excited to see Attack in Black, but after the show I was a little disappointed. I grabbed their CD when I got to Hunters and met the guys in the band (they were really cool and signed my copy), but their performance just wasn't so enthusiastic, even though they have a few really great songs. I REALLY liked Boys Who Say No however. They were really energetic, a bit eccentric and just plain great to watch. After the show they crashed at our place in Charlottetown so I got to hang out with em a bit. Really cool guys, definitely check em out if you ever get the chance.
On Friday we went out to Hunters again for Chris, Jamie and Tasha's combined birthday celebration and to see The Sidewalks open for You Say Party! We Say Die! I've listened to their music on MySpace before and never really liked it much, but their live show is great! A very high-energy performance with lots of crowd interaction and plenty of great songs that definitely have to be heard (seen) live to be appreciated.
